Because pet policies of commercial airlines can change frequently, I chose to make this chart with links that take you to the direct source of accurate information.
When you arrive to the airlines’ pet policy websites, you will be able to find information such as the fees, approved carrier dimensions, how to add your pet to a reservation, the species permitted as pets in cabin, and the maximum size and weights of pets.

Out of all the US commercial airlines on the chart, I have flown with at least one of my dogs since 2021 on Alaska Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and United Airlines. While I do not recommend one US commercial airline over another when it comes to traveling with a pet, I can recommend that you choose the one that will safely fly you most directly between your origin and destination cities.
