For pet owners planning a trip or relocation to or from Bermuda, selecting a pet friendly airline to fly is one of many important steps to complete before departure. Not all airlines that fly to and from Bermuda offer daily flights, and others may only operate routes seasonally.
I never recommend one pet friendly airline over another when it comes to flying with pets between the US, Canada and Bermuda. The routes that I suggest for my Bermuda resident clients and visitors are based on a variety of factors such as:
- Destination
- Departure
- Time of year
- Budget
- Airline preference(s)
- Size and weight of pet
- Citizenship(s), permanent residency status, and visas

My Experience Flying Delta From Lehigh Valley To Bermuda
In February 2024, I flew with Chewie for the first time from Lehigh Valley (ABE) with a layover in Atlanta (ATL) and then to Bermuda (BDA), all on Delta Air Lines, to contribute to the PadsPass Prototype Sprint Week and to attend the first Bermy Barkus event. The route made the most sense for us since ABE is close to our home in the Lehigh Valley. It was my first time flying Delta with a pet in cabin and we chose this route for its convenience and per the recommendation of our colleague, Lauren Anders Brown, Founder of PadsPass.
