Pet policies of commercial airlines change frequently, sometimes with little to no notice! That is why I made the chart below of the major Canada based commercial airlines and the links to their pet in cabin policy websites – all you need to do to view the pet policies is to clink the link under the “Pet Policy Websites” column.
Once you land on the airlines’ pet policy websites, you will find the most up to date information such as the fees, approved carrier dimensions, how to add your pet to your reservation, species permitted as pets in cabin, and the maximum size and weights of the pets.
My goal is for this post to be an accurate tool that saves you time whether you are planning to book a flight with your pet today or in 2027
List of Airlines and Links to their Pet Policy Websites
AIRLINES | PET POLICY WEBSITES |
Air Canada | Travelling with your Pet |
Air Transat | Pets and assistance dogs |
Flair | Pet in Cabin |
Porter | Travelling With Pets in the Aircraft Cabin |
WestJet | Pets: Travelling options for pets |
Although the only airline that I have flown with Chewie and Leia on this list is Air Canada, my network of clients, friends and colleagues have firsthand experience travelling across most of these airlines. Many of them have even flown with their pets in cabin, which helps me to best advice my Canadian based pet travel and relocation clients!
If you’ve flown on one or more of these Canadian based commerical airlines, I’d love to hear from you. Send an email to aliza@bodzinpettravelsolutions.com and tell me about your journey, the date(s) of your flight(s), the class of airfare you flew, the airports you traveled between, and the pet in cabin check in process!
